Trolley Tour and Democracy Chat

Where else can you bring a grandmother, a student, a school principal, a local funder, and a nonprofit leader together for a half-day of learning and joy?

A trolley might not be your first thought, but ride with us once, and it’ll click.

#MyStoryIsRealBlack™: Storytelling Tour and Democracy Chat is an immersive journey through Cleveland’s Black history, innovation, and activism.

In partnership with Cleveland VOTES, this year-round series of pop-up trolley and bus rides transforms the city into a moving classroom, connecting historic neighborhoods, landmark sites, and civic life through curated routes and mini-lectures.

Tours run on Saturday afternoons and are intentionally intimate, first-come, first-served, typically seating 35 to 45 people, so spots fill fast.

Cleveland’s Black history has shaped the city’s cultural, political, and economic DNA, even as inequities persist across daily life, opportunity, and civic power.

This experience is a reminder that Cleveland’s story is many things, including Black. Real Black.
